The new PROSPER publication is so much MORE than just a magazine...

PROSPER Magazine is the Black Country's longest-running business publication so, when the Chamber of Commerce decided it was time for a rebrand, they came and spoke to Interactive Magazines.

The Chamber had a clear vision of the type of publication they wanted PROSPER Magazine to be and the type of content they wanted to include.

Over time, the existing magazine had developed into a newsletter-style publication that focused on success stories from members alongside an array of commercial features. The layout was looking a little tired and online presence was restricted to a clunky flip book that was unusable on mobile devices.

To start the rebranding process, it was important to determine how the new magazine would look and feel and we assessed an array of printed publications to determine style preferences and paper stocks.

As the new magazine was to be positioned as a premium business title with a large selection of quality articles, the decision was made to utilise an uncoated paper for both cover and inners. With an increase to 84 printed pages, a move away from the standard saddle-stitched offering to a sturdy perfect-bound magazine allowed the publication to be enhanced with a 4.5mm spine design.

When it came to the style and personality of the new PROSPER Magazine, there were two main boxes to be ticked.

The publication needed to transform into a high-quality, premium business publication that businesses would look forward to reading and would be proud to have in their reception area and the page-layouts needed to provide a clean, comfortable reading experience.


Enhancing the printed PROSPER Magazine with a digital version that allowed content to be easily accessed and organically shared was a hugely important element of the rebrand. Simply converting the print layouts into an online flip book was not going to cut it. PROSPER needed to provide something special for online readers.

Utilising Interactive Magazine's bespoke online publishing solution, each page from the printed magazine was recreated into a mobile-friendly, easy reading window and enhanced with interactive features to provide consumers with an immersive reading experience.

The addition of dynamic features such as Direct Response Forms, Website Links, Video, Image Galleries, Pop-up Messages, Document Downloads and Social Media Sharing not only enhance the experience for online users but provide advertisers with the ability to showcase their services and receive enquiries directly from the magazine page.

After working with the team at the Chamber for a number of months, it was fantastic to finally be able to unveil the rebranded magazine and a superb Relaunch Event was held at Walsall's Light Cinema with the Mayor of The West Midlands, Andy Street and an array of the region's key business leaders.

The new PROSPER Magazine includes some fantastic articles and key insights from the Black Country region and feedback for the rebranded publication has been exceptionally positive.
